Several overlapping case windows on a simulated police desktop, over an aerial photo of a Swedish town.

PolisOS is a desktop simulation of a police investigation: seven window programs held open at once, dragged across a shared desktop, tables with nine thousand rows to filter and mark up, two documents compared side by side. None of it scales down to a phone, because a smaller version would be a different game, so there is no mobile version and no button that continues anyway.

The cases are fiction. Names, faces, case numbers and addresses are invented for the game, the portraits are synthetically generated, and none of it is produced by or connected to any Swedish authority. What is real is the structure: the cases are built on the shape of documented Swedish investigations, the evidence that existed, the methods used, the mistakes made, without depicting any identifiable person or crime.
